The Chevrolet Equinox is a compact SUV that comfortably seats up to five passengers. The car was first introduced in 2004 for the 2005 model year, and marked Chevrolet’s entry into the growing market for more fuel-efficient, compact SUVs. The current generation of the Equinox, its fourth since the car’s introduction, encompasses the 2018 to 2021 model years. The introductory Equinox in 2005, by comparison, earned a combined EPA-estimated rating of 19 mpg (and only 17 mpg on city streets).
By 2010, fuel-efficiency estimates had climbed to a range of 20 to 26 mpg. The EPA-estimated range in the 2015 model year was 17 to 26 mpg combined. Keep in mind that fuel-efficiency results can vary with your style of driving and the weight of the passengers and cargo you are carrying.
Chevrolet has succeeded in keeping the Equinox on the cutting edge as connected technology continues to improve by leaps and bounds.
